SOMC’s Dr. Darren Adams Named Coroner of the Year
Dr. Darren Adams, Scioto County Coroner and a provider with the SOMC OB/GYN Associates, was recently awarded the Coroner of the Year by Lifeline of Ohio.
In addition to bringing lives into the world through his position at SOMC, he has also assumed the role of Scioto County Coroner. One of his duties as coroner is helping save the lives of others through organ and tissue donation. He works with Lifeline of Ohio to make this mission possible.
Lifeline of Ohio facilitates the donation of organ and tissue for transplantation to those that are on the waiting list.
Lifeline of Ohio stated that they “work closely with coroners, investigators and medical examiners to navigate the complexities of donation while honoring an individual or family’s decision to donate.”
“It is an honor to be recognized by Lifeline of Ohio with the Coroner of the Year Award,” said Dr. Adams. “They do a fantastic job with bringing awareness to organ donation, and I am proud to be associated with their mission.”
Some quick facts about the need for organ, eye and tissue donation in Ohio and the United States as shared by Lifeline of Ohio:
