SOMC’s Medical Imaging department offers a full range of radiology services for adults and children. SOMC is continuously working to provide our patients the most up-to-date technological advances and innovative treatment options in diagnostic testing. Imaging modalities are ACR (American College of Radiology) accredited, a national recognition for quality.

All SOMC facilities are linked by a single Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), which allow images taken in one location to be viewed anywhere in the health system.

SOMC radiologists – physicians who specialize in the study of Radiology are board certified, sub-specialty or fellowship trained in imaging.

Radiology Information Systems

The Radiology Information Systems/Picture Archiving and Communication System is located in the Medical Imaging Department Main Campus. The AGFA RIS System is used by Radiology Personnel to manage the workflow of patient exams electronically. Integration with our hospital IT infrastructure QDOC RIS receives patient registration through the worklist for efficiency, improved workflow and increased productivity that delivers high –quality service to hospital staff patients and referring physicians.

PACS handles images from various medical imagery instruments, including Ultrasound (US) Magnetic Resonance (MR) Position Emission Tomography (PT) Computed Tomography (CT) Endoscopy (Endo) Mammogram (MO) Digital Radiology (DR) and Computed Radiography (CR).
