Antiarrhythmic Clinic

Patients diagnosed with abnormal heart rhythms may require management with medication. Medications used to treat these conditions are known as antiarrhythmics. These drugs are used to maintain patients in normal cardiac rhythm, to prevent further medical complications or stress to the heart. In order to properly monitor patients using antiarrhythmic medications, Southern Ohio Medical Center provides a specialized pharmacist-managed clinic known as the Antiarrhythmia Clinic.

Patients can expect to have an EKG, lab work (tailored to the patient’s specific medication) and any other pertinent testing with each clinic visit. Patients are scheduled every six months to meet with the clinic pharmacist for evaluation.

SOMC’s Antiarrhythmic clinic hours of operation are Wednesdays from 8:30 am to 4 pm and is located in the heart and vascular office, on 2nd floor of the Braunlin Building.
