Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI)
What is MRI?
MRI, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, is a way for Physicians to view internal structures of the human body. MRI uses no ionizing radiation and is found to have no known biological effects on the body. This technology uses radio waves and a magnetic field to get pictures of the body.
What is MRA?
MRA is Magnetic Resonance Angiography. A procedure for imaging the arteries in the body. There are some MRA studies that will require a contrast injection. The contrast used in MRI is unlike the contrast that is used for CT scans or X-Rays. It is not Iodine Based.
