Development Foundation Funds

Donations to the Annual Fund are undesignated and applied to the area of greatest need for Southern Ohio Medical Center and our community. Undesignated funds are the backbone of the SOMC Development Foundation, allowing us to allocate the funds when and where they will have the greatest impact, responding to challenges and new opportunities as they arise.

The Breast Cancer Compassion Fund is dedicated to assisting those who are battling breast cancer. Donations will help these patients by providing transportation to and from treatment, purchasing scarves, wigs and any other items they may need. Donations to this fund are not limited to helping only in these areas, and can be used towards any other need a patient may have.

Donating to the Cancer Compassion Fund will help those who have been affected by cancer. Whether it is helping with their travel, every day expenses or even assisting in purchasing their medications, any donation will surely make a difference.

The Community Health & Wellness Fund is designed to offer support to projects that will positively affect the health and wellness of those living and working in our community. Our goal is to create opportunities for families in the community to lead healthy and active lifestyles.

Support the employees of SOMC by donating to the Employee Relief Fund. This fund is here to support our employees when they need it most. From helping pay to replace items lost in a devastating fire, to paying for medical bills during an unforeseen illness, to even covering funeral expenses, this fund provides a variety of ways to give back to the SOMC employees during hard times.

Support of the Heart & Vascular Fund enables Southern Ohio Medical Center to offer our heart patients a second chance at life by ensuring a precise diagnosis, treatment and prevention of heart disease through the most advanced technology available. Donations will also allow SOMC to offer support to those patients who experience financial difficulty in their time of need.

The Hospice Caritas Fund provides an opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of SOMC Hospice patients and their families. Your gift ensures patients and their families receive the comfort, support and care they deserve during their time in hospice care.

This unique fund was established by the Donaldson family as a way to give back to Southern Ohio Medical Center employees who provide quality health care daily to our community. Donations to this fund provide scholarships to SOMC employees to further their education in the medical field.

Managing diabetes at any age is difficult, but especially so when you are a child. Donations to this fund provides education, special opportunities and assistance to those diagnosed with Juvenile and Type 1 diabetes.

This fund is used for education and training for our staff to equip them with the knowledge needed to provide the “Gold Standard of Care” for families experiencing an unexpected perinatal loss. It also provides resources for the mothers and families such as Perinatal Bereavement Kits, pamphlets, books, keepsake impressions, keepsake memory box, photo access and burial outfits as well as a possible burial fund for families who are experiencing an additional financial stress or burden with burial expenses.

Support of the Pediatric Fund enables Southern Ohio Medical Center to offer new programs and services that help us serve children in our community.
